About Aluciano Home Services
Four trades. One company on the hook.
Heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical are all handled in-house here. That one fact changes how a job actually goes at your house, and it is the thing about us worth putting on a page.
The usual way
With four contractors, you are the project manager.
Most homeowners keep four numbers in a drawer. A furnace company. A plumber. An electrician. Somebody for the air conditioner in July. Four companies, four dispatchers, four opinions about what went wrong.
That arrangement is fine right up until a job touches more than one system, which happens far more often than people expect. A furnace replacement can need a dedicated circuit and a condensate drain. A water heater swap can involve a gas line, a vent, and an electrical feed. A kitchen remodel needs all four at once.
At that point the house has a general contractor whether you wanted one or not, and it is you. You are the one holding the schedule, repeating the story to each company, and deciding who is right when two of them disagree in your basement.
Three windows for one job
You take a morning off for the plumber. Another morning for the electrician. A third for whoever has to come back after the first two are finished. One repair eats three days of your life, spread across two weeks.
Everybody blames the other trade
The electrician says the furnace board is bad. The furnace tech says the circuit is bad. Both charged you to come out and say it, and neither will touch the other side of the problem. You are standing in the middle, paying for the argument.
Nobody sees the whole house
Each company looks at its own piece and leaves. Nobody notices that the breaker tripping in the laundry room and the air conditioner struggling in August might be the same story. That connection is the part nobody ever diagnoses.
What we do differently
One call, one company, one set of hands on the whole job.
Aluciano runs heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical as one company. When a job crosses trades, it stays here instead of getting handed to somebody you never hired.
- You describe the symptom, we sort out the trade. Water on the basement floor could be a plumbing leak or a plugged condensate drain on the air conditioner. Working out which one is our job, not yours.
- Cross-trade work gets done on one visit. If the fix needs a pipe and a wire, that is one appointment instead of two companies negotiating who goes first.
- The second visit is faster than the first. We have already seen your panel, your furnace, your water heater, and where the main shutoff actually is.
- There is nobody left to blame. When the same company owns the duct, the pipe, and the wire, an argument about whose fault it is has nowhere to go. There is just the fix.
Why this matters more on older houses
A lot of the housing here has been standing a long time. Brick bungalows in Chicago, frame houses in Berwyn and Cicero, older homes in Oak Park, Riverside, and Elmhurst, along with newer subdivisions out toward Wheaton, Naperville, and Aurora.
An older house has been worked on by a dozen different people over the decades, and their work overlaps in ways that only surface when something breaks. A furnace installed by one crew, wired by another, and vented by a third leaves seams. Those seams are exactly where the four-contractor model falls apart, because each company only owns its own side of one.
Seeing all four systems in the same basement on the same afternoon is the difference between fixing a symptom and finding what caused it.
How we handle pricing
Diagnose, show you, price it, you decide.
In that order, every time. Nothing gets done off a number you have not seen and agreed to.
We diagnose
We find the actual cause, not the first thing that looks wrong. Guessing at a price over the phone helps nobody, so the diagnosis comes first.
We show you
The failed part, the meter reading, the wet spot, the scorched terminal. You get to look at the thing we are talking about instead of taking our word for it.
We price it
You get the number for the repair in plain language, plus the options when there is more than one honest way to solve it.
You decide
You approve it or you do not. Either answer is fine. No work starts before you say yes.
The work stops and you get a new number before anything else happens. Opening a wall or pulling a panel cover sometimes changes the picture. What it should never do is change the bill without a conversation first.
We would rather spend ten extra minutes explaining what we found than have you discover it as a line item at the end. If a price does not make sense to you, say so on the spot and make us walk through it again.
Straight answers
What we will tell you even when it costs us the sale.
These are the moments where a home services company either earns the next call or loses it for good.
When a repair beats a replacement
An old furnace is not automatically a dead furnace. What decides it is the specific failure, what that part costs against a new system, and how much life is left in the rest of the unit. When the repair is the smarter money, we will say so, and yes, that means selling you less.
When a replacement really is the answer
That honesty runs both directions. Pouring money into a system that fails in a new place every winter is not doing you a favor. If you are three repairs into a losing argument with a furnace, we will lay out the math and let you decide with real numbers in front of you.
When a job is outside what we take on
Some work belongs somewhere else, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than start it and figure it out halfway through. Describe the job when you call. A clear no on the first call is worth more to you than a maybe that costs you a week.
An honest window, not a promise we cannot keep
In January every heating company in Chicago is buried, and in the first hot week of summer every cooling company is too. We will tell you the soonest we can actually be there rather than book you into a window we already know we will miss. Call and ask how soon we can be out.
A furnace switch that got flipped off. A tripped GFCI on the other side of the room feeding a dead outlet. A filter so packed the system cannot breathe. These are real reasons houses go cold and rooms go dark, and they are worth checking before anybody drives out. If that is what is happening at your place, we will tell you on the phone.
Where we work
Chicago and the western suburbs
If your town is not on this list, call and ask anyway. We would rather give you a straight yes or no than have you guess from a map.
Common questions
What people ask before they book
Is it really one company, or do you hand jobs off?
Heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical are all handled in-house at Aluciano. When a job needs two of those trades, it stays with us instead of going to a company you did not choose and cannot hold responsible.
Do I call a different number for plumbing than for heating?
No. It is one number for all four: (708) 271-3667. Tell us the symptom and we will sort out which trade it belongs to.
What if my problem turns out to be a different trade than I thought?
That happens constantly, and it is the whole reason this setup exists. A puddle near the furnace looks like plumbing and is often a cooling problem. A dead outlet can trace back to the bathroom. With one company, a wrong guess on your part costs nothing and nobody has to be sent home.
Will I know what a visit costs before I book it?
Ask when you call and we will walk you through how the visit works before anything gets scheduled. You should not be learning how you are billed at the end of the job.
Is there a form I can fill out instead?
There is no form on this site, on purpose. A two minute conversation gets you a better answer than a text box does, because we can ask the follow up questions that narrow down what is actually wrong.
There is a $125 service charge to come out. That pays for the trip and the diagnosis, which means finding what is actually wrong and telling you what it costs to fix. It is a separate charge and is not credited toward the repair. Once you have the repair price, nothing happens until you approve it.
Tell us what the house is doing.
One call covers heat, air, water, and power. Describe the symptom and you will get a real answer about what it probably is and how soon we can be out.
